There can't be a Mexico series without including the flag. I've always found to be a very unique banner, for it features a prophecy as its coat of arms. The symbol recalls the legend of an eagle sitting on a cactus while devouring a serpent, a very specific apparition foretold by Huitzilopochtli, a Mexica deity, which would signal the land in which the Mexica tribe will settle and found their city, Tenochtitlan. That same land is now Mexico City.
In my rendition of this epic symbol, I chose to depict the great brown eagle just moments after its famous debut, soaring back into the sky with its catch. My intention is to symbolize a forward motion for the trouble nation. It is no secret the Mexico has been posinoed by evergrowing violence and corruption. As a native to this country, I hope to do whatever I can to help Mexico soar again.
